『 イタリア出張リポート その2 』
またまた久しぶりのブログになってしまいました。
すみません。
イタリア出張第2弾はまだか！という厳しいお声もいただきましたので
第2弾を書かせていただきます。
観光も大事ということで、サンタ・マリア・デッレ・グラツィエ修道院。
ここも以前来た時にはもう少し簡単に入れた記憶があったんですが
今や予約を取るのもなかなか大変でした。
行かれる方がいらっしゃるなら、早めの予約をお勧めします。
また中心部に戻ってからは、昔との違いを感じつつ散策を。
ココもエディモネッティのでかいお店だったのにLEGOになっておりました。
それでも近くに小さなお店で残っていたのでなんだか嬉しい感じでしたね。
実は日本でも一時期エディモネッティ展開していた時期がありまして、
REUNIONでも数シーズン取り扱っておりました。
かなり高級な、ザ・ミラノってお店でした。
フラフラと歩いているとルイジボレッリのお店も発見。
ここも僕の記憶とは場所が違っていましたが、まだ健在でした。
イタリアのお店は買うものがないとなかなか入れないので
ウインドウの写真が多くなってしまいますがご了承を。
現地でもほぼ日本と同じ、いやそれ以上？のプライスになっているので
バンバン買い物するわけにいきませんからね。
それでもウインドウにアイテムごとのプライスが書いてあるので、
気になるお店はチェックしてきました。
コットンのROTAが355ユーロですから、かなり高級です。
この日はできるだけお店を見て勉強しようと色々まわってみました。
日本でも人気のエラル55。
ここも昔からあるセンスのいいショップ。
クラッシクなアイテムやアメリカンカジュアル、ヴィンテージ物と
日本のセレクトショップとは一味違うショップですね。
見習いたいショップの一つです。
そんなショップにウチでも取り扱いのある『 BORRIELLO 』のシャツが。
なんとなく嬉しい感じでした。
その周りにもかなりのショップがあり、ふらふらしてると
日本でもおなじみのブランドのショップがありましたが、
やはり入ることは出来ず・・
ミラノでの印象ですが、
昔ながらのクラッシックなお店が減って、ブランドの直営店が増えたなという感じでした。
家賃が高かったりというのも個人店には厳しいということですね。
そして、初めてコモへ。
有名なネクタイの産地ですが今はリゾート地として人気があるとのことです。
コモではお会いしたかったネクタイ屋さんがいたのですが、
生憎予定が合わず断念しました。
ステファノ・カウさん、またの機会によろしくお願いします。
ということで、コモではセリエＡのサッカー観戦や湖のレジャーなど、
などほぼ観光となりました。
初めてのコモでしたが、もう少しゆっくり次回は来てみたいですね。
食事は行く前にL.I.Ｓの坂戸社長に教えてもらっていたレストランで。
なんとなく水を見ると魚介系の物が食べたくなりますね。
ミラノからの日帰りでしたが、十分楽しめました。
翌日からはヴェネツィアに移動です。
今回の出張の目的であるBELVEST訪問です。
スーツの工場に行くのは15年以上前のカルーゾ以来になります。
次のブログでご紹介しますね。
あっという間にミラノ最後の夜。

It’s been a while since my last blog post again.
I’m sorry about that.
Since I received some stern messages asking, “When is the second part of your Italy business trip coming out?!”
I’ll go ahead and write the second part.
Since sightseeing is important too, I visited the Santa Maria delle Grazie Convent.
I remember it being a bit easier to get in when I visited before,
but now it was quite a challenge just to secure a reservation.
If you’re planning to go, I recommend booking well in advance.
After returning to the city center, I took a stroll while noticing how things have changed since the past.
This used to be a huge Edimonnetti store, but it’s now a LEGO store.
Still, I was somehow happy to see that a small Edimonnetti shop had survived nearby.
Actually, Edimonnetti was available in Japan for a while,
and REUNION carried their products for a few seasons as well.
It was a pretty high-end shop—the epitome of Milan.
While wandering around, I also discovered a Luigi Borrelli store.
The location was different from what I remembered, but it was still going strong.
Since it’s hard to walk into Italian stores unless you’re planning to buy something,
I ended up taking a lot of photos of the windows—please bear with me.
Since prices here are almost the same as in Japan—or maybe even higher?—
I can’t exactly go on a shopping spree.
Still, since the prices for each item are listed in the windows,
I checked out the shops that caught my eye.
A cotton ROTA is 355 euros, so it’s quite high-end.
On this day, I tried to visit as many shops as possible to learn from them.
Erral 55, which is also popular in Japan.
This is another long-standing shop with great taste.
With classic items, American casual wear, and vintage pieces,
it’s a shop with a different vibe from Japanese select shops.
It’s one of the shops I’d like to emulate.
In a shop like that, I spotted a shirt from “BORRIELLO,” a brand we carry at our store.
It made me feel kind of happy.
There were quite a few shops in the surrounding area, and as I wandered around,
I came across a shop for a brand familiar in Japan,
but I couldn’t bring myself to go in…
My impression of Milan was that
the number of old-fashioned, classic stores has decreased, while the number of brand flagship stores has increased.
High rent makes it tough for independent shops, I suppose.
And then, my first visit to Como.
It’s famous as a tie-making region, but I hear it’s now popular as a resort destination.
There was a tie shop owner in Como I really wanted to meet,
but unfortunately, our schedules didn’t align, so I had to give up on that.

So, in Como, I mostly just did sightseeing—watching a Serie A soccer match, enjoying the lake, and so on.
It was my first time in Como, but I’d like to come back next time and take it a bit slower.
For dinner, I went to a restaurant that Mr. Sakado, the president of L.I.S., had recommended to me before I left.
For some reason, whenever I see water, I get a craving for seafood.
It was just a day trip from Milan, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The next day, I’m heading to Venice.
The purpose of this business trip is to visit BELVEST.
It’s been over 15 years since I last visited a suit factory—back when I went to Caruso.
I’ll tell you all about it in my next blog post.
Before I knew it, it was my last night in Milan.
I need to work hard so I can take this opportunity to visit Italy more often!
It might be nice to travel with clients again—it’s been a while.
